A
plan check application form and at least two (2)
sets of plans and specifications including make, model, etc, of all equipment
to be installed must be submitted for approval to the Kings County Health Department,
Division of Environmental Health Services. Plan check and installation fees must
be paid when the authority-to-construct and approved set of plans are issued by
this office, unless prior arrangements have been made. No work may be done until
the plans have been approved and the authority-to-construct issued.
State
of California Underground Storage Tank permit application and Installation Certification
forms will be issued along with the approved plans and authority-to-construct.
These forms must be completed and returned to this office before the UST permit
to operate can be issued to the tank owner following the installation process.
Plans are also subject to review and approval by the fire and building departments
having jurisdiction as well as the San
Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District. It is the tank owners
responsibility to submit plans and obtain the necessary permits from other agencies.
Specific
requirements for the design, construction and testing for new UST installations
are detailed in CCR, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16, Underground Storage Tank
Regulations, §2630 - §2636. Copies of the UST statutes and regulations may be obtained
on the SWRCB
website or by contacting our Department.
Please
