2013 Business Property Statements
IMPORTANT
A preprinted, self adhesive label was included with the demand letter that was previously mailed to you. It is important that you apply the identification label to the address box on your form. Without this identification label on your 571 form, we may not be able to identify your form as being returned, which could result in the assessment of a penalty for failure to file your property statement.
If there are changes in ownership or mailing address please make legible corrections to the pre-printed label and attach it to the form. For those filing a BOE 571-F Agricultural Property Statement, a master asset list based on your previous reporting was included with that letter for your convenience. Please edit and include the asset list with your completed BOE 571-F form.
The return date for both the BOE 571-L & BOE 571-F is April 1, 2013. In accordance with California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 463(b) a 10% penalty must be assessed to all property owners who fail to file timely. Per California law, U.S. Post Office postmarks are the only acceptable evidence to determine timely filing.
Form BOE 571-F is for Agricultural Businesses (Farms, Dairies, etc); form BOE 571-L is for use by most other businesses. Both forms can be completed on your computer. You can save a copy for your records and print, sign, and mail a copy to us in the envelope that was included with your demand letter.
* Please note: All of our forms are in Adobe PDF format. You may download
the
free Adobe Reader by clicking the link below. Some older versions of
Adobe
Reader may have problems opening the form. If you are having
problems
opening our forms, we recommend that you download the most
current
version of Adobe Reader and try to open the form again.
We strongly
recommend that you download and save a copy of the blank form to
your
computer before you begin entering your data.

New Features for the 2013 Business Property and Agricultural Property Statements
As a new feature in our 2013 Business Property Statements (571-L), the column totals
on each page will automatically be calculated for you. Please note, however, that the
grand totals on Lines 35 and 71 (and 97 if completing the Alternate Schedule A) must
still
be inputted manually. This was done in order to allow for any additional schedules
that
may be required. The grand totals you key in on these lines will automatically be
placed
in the appropriate lines on Page 1, Part II of the form. If you experience any problems with the
calculated totals, please contact our office so we can investigate the issue.
For both the Business Property (571-L) and Agricultural Property (571-F) statments, you may use the tab key on your keyboard to move from field to field in the form for easier completion.
