INFORMATION CONCERNING BUSINESSES IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF
KINGS COUNTY
If you intend to operate a business which is located in the unincorporated areas of Kings County you will probably need a Zoning Permit from the Community Development Agency. For more information please contact the Community Development Agency at (559) 582-3211 Ext. 2670.
If the business is to be operated out of your home and it is located in the unincorporated areas of Kings County you may need a Home Occupation Permit which is also issued by the Community Development Agency.
If you need a Fictitious Business Name for your business you must contact the Clerk Recorder's Office and file a Fictitious Business Name Statement. For more information please contact the Clerk Recorder's Office at the number below.
If you need a Tax ID Number you can contact the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-829-1040 for assistance.
If you are operating your business within an City, you may also need a Business License from the City. You must contact each individual City that you do business in to determine their requirements.
