California District Attorney's Association
The California District Attorneys' Association's (CDAA) Circuit Prosecutor Project was established in early 1998. The mission of the Circuit Prosecutor Project, at the time, was to fill a significant gap in environmental protection by providing experienced environmental attorneys to rural California Counties.

In Spring 2001, the Circuit Prosecutor Project expanded its services to also provide attorneys experienced in worker safety to the rural California counties. Circuit Prosecutors are deputized as needed in counties that lack the resources to have a prosecutor experience in environmental or worker safety law as a full time employee.

Circuit Prosecutors analyze and prepare cases presented by state and county agencies and prosecute violators under the supervision of California's District Attorneys.

Currently, the project has eight circuit prosecutors covering more than thirty rural counties. These circuit prosecutors work within assigned counties attending environmental and worker safety task force meetings and providing training for local regulators and law enforcement personnel.
Since its inception, the Circuit Prosecutor Project has processed more that 500 cases and has obtained more than $3 million in fines, penalties, and costs.
