The California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program is California's version of the Federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program (TANF). This program provides time-limited cash assistance to families with children. The level of assistance is based upon a variety of factors, including family size and income level. Cash benefits are issued electronically on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. For more information on EBT go to: http://www.cdss.ca.gov/cdssweb/entres/forms/English/PUB388.pdf
To check the balance on your EBT account go to www.ebt.ca.gov
If your EBT Card is lost or stolen, please call: 1-877-328-9677.
