Property Taxes

"What programs or services are supported by property taxes?"

Property tax revenue supports our community. These revenues pay for such vital services such as law enforcement, fire services, and public health. It improves the quality of life by supporting our local public libraries, public parks, and public education. There are many other programs and services supported by the revenue generated by property taxes.

Tax Sales

We currently have not set a date for our next tax sale. Our auctions are usually held once a year via the internet @ www.bid4assets.com.  Our next tax sale is tentatively scheduled for March of 2009.

Should you be interested in receiving a listing of the properties in the future, please feel free to send us a self-addressed stamped envelope. Be sure to include a simple note indicating that you would like a tax sale listing and bidding information when it becomes available. Once our tax sale date is set, we will send you a packet with all necessary bidding information. This packet will be mailed in ample time so that you may research these properties prior to bidding. All properties not sold at the tax sale may be re-offered for sale within a 90-day period. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions.

More information may be obtained by contacting the Tax Collector at 1400 West Lacey Boulevard, Hanford, California, 93230, or call (559) 582-3211, extension 2479.
