Mental Health Service Act (MHSA)

Welcome to
the
Kings County Mental Health Services Act

The purpose of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) is to expand, improve and develop mental health services in California. Put forth by a ballot initiative in November 2004, this Act is funded by a 1% tax on taxable income for any personal income over 1 million dollars a year.

Kings County invites you to view this plan, ask questions, provide feedback and ideas, as well as join the community in the continued planning and building process of this Act.

This plan will be posted for thirty (30) days for public comment, at which time it will go before the Kings County Board of Supervisors on May 23, 2006 for approval.
