Sex Offender Registry to be demonstrated at the Hanford Homecoming.
Visit the Sheriff's Office booth at Courthouse Park on May 17, 2008.

A Sex Offender Registry is maintained by the Sheriff's Office within this website that is continuously updated.  This registry can provide information about a particular sex offender, list all offenders within a one mile radius of a given address, and give email notification regarding offenders in your neighborhood.

Sheriff's Office personnel will be present at the Hanford Homecoming celebration on May 17, 2008 to demonstrate the Sex Offender Registry program and allow use to those without internet access.  Stop by the Sheriff's Office booth in Courthouse Park after the Homecoming parade.

Sheriff's Office "Are You Ok" (RUOK) PROGRAM
A program for senior citizens and/or the disabled

ruok program

The RUOK (Are you OK) Program is designed to contact senior citizens and/or the disabled who live alone and may not have a family member who can check on them every day.  Every day, at a time chosen by the participant, the RUOK computer will call the recipient.  If the phone is unanswered, it will try again.  If there is still no answer a deputy or officer will respond to the residence and check on the person.

This service is offered free of charge by the Kings County Sheriff's Office to any citizen of the county.  The program has been very successful.  The participants, who have appreciated the calls, have voiced their approval to Sheriff Chris Jordan.

With the summertime heat approaching, now is a good time to sign up yourself or a loved one.  Please sign up by calling our Emergency Dispatch Center at 582-3211 ext. 2720.

For further information, please review the RUOK portion of our website.

COP Program

Sheriff Jordan knows the concept of Community Oriented Policing was not just something printed on a letterhead. It is a concept that he wanted his department to adopt as a policing philosophy. Community Policing is not just a temporary "program" but a way of doing day to day business...read more.
